Just a stone’s throw from the sea, Room 1 offers one of the finest coastal views in Robin Hood’s Bay. Wake to the sound of waves and watch the tide roll in from your window with full bay and sea view.
This inviting double room blends the charm of a traditional seaside inn with modern comfort. It features a comfortable double bed, private ensuite with shower, and thoughtful touches throughout — soft towels, complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee facilities, and free Wi-Fi.
Perfect for couples or solo travellers seeking an authentic stay by the bay, just moments from the beach, harbour and the welcoming atmosphere of The Bay Hotel’s historic bar below. Situated on the Cleveland Way and at the official finish of the Coast to Coast Walk, it’s a favourite stop for walkers and those wanting a true coastal escape.
An extra guest can stay in this room, although the fold-away bed is best suited to a child.

The Bay Hotel is located right on the waterfront at the bottom of Robin Hood’s Bay — one of the most picturesque coastal villages in North Yorkshire.
From Scarborough, we are about 17 miles north via the A171. Turn off the A171 and head down Sledgates, following the road through Fylingthorpe village before reaching Robin Hood’s Bay. Continue downhill into the village until the road narrows and slopes steeply toward the sea. The Bay Hotel sits directly at the end of the road on the right-hand side, beside the dock.
Please note that there is no public parking at the bottom of the bay. Guests may drive down to drop off luggage, but parking must be in one of the public car parks at the top of the bank — just a short walk away via the cobbled streets. During busy periods, we recommend unloading first, then parking up before returning on foot.
Due to the historic nature of both the building and the village, The Bay Hotel is not wheelchair accessible. There are no lifts or chair lifts within the property, and access throughout Robin Hood’s Bay involves steep banks, cobbled streets, and narrow alleys. While the setting is undeniably beautiful and full of character, it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. Although local taxi company Bay Private Hire do offer their services up and down the bank - 01947 880603
